Doylestown’s Balayage Specialists
Balayage is a hair color technique that originated in France in the 1970’s. In fact, it’s name comes from the French word meaning “to sweep”.
Unlike with traditional foil highlights, your stylist will paint (or sweep) the color or lightener onto individual hair strands. This allows for a more subtle, natural result while still creating depth, lightness, and dimension.
While similar gradients can be achieved, these two concepts are very different. Think of it as a technique vs a look. Ombré is a way to describe a finished look. Semantics aside, hair painting allows for smooth transitions between colors while ombré creates a more obvious fade between shades.
